Me
Over 20
years experience counseling individuals, couples, and families,
and over 10 years experience supervising other therapists.
If you're highly motivated and
willing to work hard, I can help you take your relationships to the
next level. First, we'll figure out what you really want and
what’s keeping you from getting it. Then I'll teach you the skills
you need to turn those insights into action--as quickly as possible.
During our sessions together, we'll
work on breaking the patterns that create tension and distance in
your relationships. You’ll learn specific techniques for talking
about even the most difficult issues in a caring, respectful, and
non-defensive way. You'll also learn a model for expressing hurt
feelings, apologizing from the heart, and making meaningful amends.
Between sessions, your job will be
to practice whatever skills you’ve agreed to work on--just as
you'd practice piano between lessons if you really wanted to learn
to play. Each time we meet, we'll celebrate progress and figure out
what else you need to do to experience even greater satisfaction in
your relationships. If you're missing skills or need more practice
using them, I'll coach you through the process.
My job is to make each session
challenging and relevant, and to inspire you to be your brightest
self in and out of your relationships.
You can expect me to:
* Notice what others miss * Ask
direct questions * Tell you what I think * Insist you do your
homework * Make it as easy as possible
Don’t expect me to:
* Agree with you all the time *
Tell you what to do * Sit and nod * Perform miracles very often
