Statement: The
Center has the only two certified Cognitive Therapists in Northern
Indiana and offers training in cognitive therapy. Dr. Sharon Freeman
has lectured nationally and internationally in 10 countries. She is
editor and author of Cognitive Behavior Therapy in Nursing practice
the first book integrating cognitive therapy into psychiatric
nursing practice.
Dr. Freeman is licensed to conduct psychotherapy as well as
prescribed medication if needed. She is the current President-Elect
of NAADAC The Association for Addiction Professionals and is a
member of the board of directors for the International Association
for Cognitive Psychotherapy. She conducts workshops on the use of
cognitive therapy and brief therapy for anxiety, depression,
personality disorders, substance misuse problems, couples problems
and crisis/trauma management.
Dr. Freeman is also available for individual mentoring (coaching)
sessions using cognitive behavioral techniques to enhance a persons
current life situation in those cases when the person is
psychologically healthy but would like some assistance with making
life changes.
