Statement: My
name is Maria Lloyd and I have been practicing therapy for ten
years. My style is collaborative and seeks to empower clients. I
provide a safe and supportive environment for you to explore past
hurts, accept and deal with present feelings and hardships and work
towards an optimistic and peaceful future. I am available for after
hour crisis or consultation.
The biggest privilege of counseling
others is helping people grow into their real and true identity, not
what society or others say they should be. I primarily work with
individuals, helping them increase self-awareness and self-esteem,
improve relationships with family and others, make life-giving
choices, and treat issues such as stress or depression.
I particularly enjoy working with
pregnant or new mothers who are trying to balance the joys and
pressures of this significant life change. As a mother of two young
ones, I can relate personally and professionally to what many San
Jose mothers are dealing with. I'm able to arrange for flexible
hours to meet with moms on their own schedule.
My therapy style is Cognitive
Behavioral and helps you make sense of how your thoughts and
behaviors are affecting your feelings. The treatment plan we develop
together will be specific to your situation.
Besides working with individuals, I
offer Women's Groups focused on alleviating depression and
increasing self-esteem. Please contact me to find out the
