Statement: I believe that the most important
aspect of psychotherapy is the comfort level and trust in the
relationship between therapist and client. I participate actively in
the process of therapy by offering feedback to clients designed to
increase insight into what drives their behavior, relationships,
conflicts and symptoms etc. I collaborate closely with the client in
setting treatment goals and in determining how to best reach those
goals.
My clients report feeling respected by me and comfortable in
relating to me. I believe that each of us has the capacity to live a
fulfilling life and it is my job to help people overcome the
conflicts, fears, illusions and self-doubts etc. that are preventing
that life from unfolding.
Ultimately, the psychotherapy client wants more than insight; the
client wants to change. During the course of therapy, I help clients
monitor their progress toward change and identify obstacles that
need to be worked through. Successful treatment should free the
client from self defeating and self limiting thoughts, behaviors and
relationship patterns.
I do short-term and long-term therapy with goals ranging from
smoking cessation to profound personality change. In addition to
psychotherapy, I also offer Sports Performance Enhancement for
athletes who want help reaching and maintaining their peak
performance. My practice is completely private and confidential
without the intrusion of support staff.
